Arrangements

The kinds of nanny families ask for

The arrangement depends on the family’s hours and the age of the child, from a few hours a day to a nanny who lives in.

Daily nanny

Works to a schedule: a few hours a day, or certain days of the week.

Live-in nanny

Lives with the family and is there through the day. Suits parents with long or unpredictable hours.

Night nanny

Helps with a newborn: night feeds, settling, getting sleep back on track.

Governess

Care and teaching: languages, schoolwork and getting ready for school.

Duties

What the work covers

The duties go into the agreement before the nanny starts, so nothing is left to guesswork.

  • Looking after the child: meals, bathing, bedtime
  • Time outdoors every day
  • Games, reading, drawing and other things that teach without feeling like lessons
  • The nursery run, the school run, clubs and doctor’s appointments
  • Help with homework
  • Keeping the child’s room tidy
  • Simple cooking for the child
How we check a candidate

Four stages before you meet anyone

1

Documents

Passport, employment record, health certificate, criminal record certificate.

2

Interview in person

Experience, temperament and how they are with children – face to face, not from a form.

3

References

We ring previous employers ourselves and check what we were told.

4

Practical skills

Experience with children of the right age, child development, first aid.

Hours

Schedules and overtime

A standard working day is 6–8 hours. Anything beyond that is paid separately, at an hourly rate.

Yerevan and the rest of Armenia

Why families in Yerevan use an agency

Armenian families take their time over the person who will be with their child, and they are right to. We are not filling a vacancy. We are looking for someone who will fit into the life of the house and stay.

  • Our own register of candidates, with references we have taken up ourselves
  • First profiles within 3–5 days of signing
  • A replacement if the person is not right for you
  • Confidentiality at every stage of the search
  • Yerevan and the regions of Armenia
Our fee

One payment, made when the agreement is signed

Our fee is 50 % of the employee’s monthly salary, split equally between the client and the employee.

50 %of one month’s salary – the whole cost of the search
The client pays25 %
The employee pays25 %
Term of the agreementsix months
Free replacementsup to three

How the payment works

  • At signing the client pays their 25 %, and the employee’s 25 % in one go.
  • The employee then receives their first month’s salary minus that 25 %.
  • On a replacement the new employee pays us 25 %. For you the replacement is free.
  • A shorter agreement is possible; we discuss the terms case by case.

Questions

What people ask most often

What does a nanny cost in Yerevan?

The nanny’s salary follows the market and what you ask for: the hours, whether the nanny lives in, languages, the age of the child. Our fee is worked out from it – 50 % of one month’s salary, of which the client pays 25 %. We will give you a salary range at the first consultation, once we understand the job.

Can we have a live-in nanny?

Yes. A live-in nanny is in the house and available through the day, which suits parents with long hours. The living arrangements, days off and overtime all go into the agreement.

Do you check candidates?

Every candidate goes through four stages: documents (passport, employment record, health certificate, criminal record certificate), an interview in person, calls to previous employers, and a check of practical skills. A profile reaches you only after all four.

How long does the search take?

First profiles come 3–5 days after the agreement is signed, usually three to five candidates so there is a choice. A narrow brief takes longer – a nanny with English who also lives in, for instance.

Can we ask for someone else?

Yes. The agreement allows up to three free replacements. If the nanny is not right for you – the temperament, the hours, the standard of work – we find another at no cost to you.
